For a SUPER simple background, I like to add some strips of washi tape, letting some of the strips cross over each other for added interest.
Sometimes I like to add the Washi to a piece of cardstock and then raise this up to add additional dimension.
Or even, add the Washi then run the panel through with a Debossing Cover die, again adding more dimension & interest.
