Eclipsed Dry Embossing Plus Stencilled Rainbow Fun!
I started by ink blending a rainbow using the new Double Rainbow stencil and mask set; I used the masks which come with this stencil to mask off the band’s either side of the one that I was ink blending to give me a beautiful rainbow! Then I cut the rainbow panel down using a circle die from my stash.
Rainbow Colours:
- Crimson (from Red Sunset)
- Orange Blaze (from Warm & Cosy)
- Fresh Lemon (from Sunshine In My Pocket)
- Just Green (from Green Meadows)
- Persian Blue (from Glacier Caves)
- Plum (from Sugarplums)
- Rubellite (from Cherry Blossoms)
The new Chequered Diamonds 3d embossing folder is absolutely FABULOUS and I used it on an a2 panel of Neenah cardstock to create my background. Then, I wanted the circle to sit raised up from the background but still continuing the dry embossed pattern behind it.
So once I knew where I wanted the circle to be sitting on the background, I could pop it into the embossing folder, using the already dry embossed panel as a guide on where to position it. I added Instant Dimension foam tape to the back of the rainbow circle and carefully adhered it in place. (This is what I’m calling Eclipsed Dry Embossing!)
The large ‘yay!’ sentiment is cut from black mirror cardstock, with 2 matte black layers behind for dimension. I added a sub sentiment which I embossed in white powder on black cardstock, then added some black enamel accents.

Dry Embossed Focal
I cut another circle from Neenah 80lb, then I positioned this in the Peony Sunshine 3d embossing folder so that the beautiful and large Peony would fill up the shape. To add a bit more definition to the image, I VERY lightly went over it with a large blending tool with a very small amount of ink on. (Misty Morning, which is the lightest shade from the Tranquility family.)
This way, the ink only goes onto the highest points of the image and just offers subtle definition, whilst still appearing quite tone-on-tone.
For my background, I used scrap strips of the 6×6 Blends paper pack to create a striped background that my beautiful Peony could sit on and added a few thin strips of gold glitter cardstock.
I added a small stamped sentiment and some Satin White sequins.
