Catherine Pooler is releasing three refreshed ink colours to fit in the Spring Fling set of inks – these will replace the three original colours, which are being retired.

Mint To Be > Minted

It’s A Boy > Oh Boy!

Sweet Sixteen > Sixteen Dresses

It’s also new release day with Global Adventure Part Deux releasing alongside the updated inks – I’ve got the brand new Lantern Festival stamp & dies so I’ve got some fun card designs to share! (Plus a video!)

CP + WOW

Lantern Festival includes three different lantern styles with a whole bunch of additional extras that you can use to decorate, so I stamped one of each style using the three new inks. Once I had stamped each one, I quickly added some WOW/CP Halo embossing glitter and heat set.

Then I also stamped a few of the accessories before die cutting them all. I arranged them on an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb, using a mixture of liquid and foam adhesives.

The sentiment and flower are from the same stamp set, and I used a grey ink for them as I think that black would be too harsh.

Simple Card Making For Beginners

I wanted to share a closer look at the new inks, and compare them to the originals so I made a video! 🙂

I do think that they fit in with the rest of the Spring Fling inks much better than the originals because they are much more saturated and brighter. Whereas the original three definitely seem to have more grey in them.

Do you NEED to get them? Well, that’s really up to you…if you have the originals and you’re happy with them, then no you probably don’t. But if you don’t have them and/or you suffer from Full Set Syndrome then these are definitely a good addition to your stash!

Silhouettes Against A Fiery Sky

I really do love this new stamp set and I wanted to show it against some different colour schemes; the first idea that I had when I saw the set was to make them dark silhouettes.

On an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb, I ink blended a gradient of Cranberry Fizz, Flame & Glitz for a high intensity fiery glow. To add a bit of texture, I spritzed the panel with a little clean, clear water.

Once I knew it was COMPLETELY dry, I lined up my lanterns/accessories and stamped them three times, for a true black image, in Obsidian Pigment ink. I stamped another of the sentiments from the set in the same ink!

Simple, but so gorgeous!!!
