Hey Crafty People!
Today’s Pride Month project is all about embracing watercolour simplicity, with bold colours in a beautifully easy way. The cool tones of the Gay Pride flag inspired this soft yet striking floral card, using a super easy watercolour technique that gives gorgeous results with minimal fuss.
Celebrating Pride with Watercolour Simplicity
- Stamp your large floral image onto watercolour cardstock using WOW! Embossing Ink. Then heat emboss it using Polished Silver powder for a gorgeous reflective outline.
- Now, tip a small amount of your chosen Lindy’s Magicals (or any pigment powder) in two colours onto a glass mat. I went with a blue and a green to echo the Gay Pride flag’s palette.
- Wet a flat paintbrush and load it up with the first colour. Swipe horizontally across the floral image, leaving a small gap between each line (just thinner than the width of your brush). Make sure to rinse your brush before repeating with the second colour to fill the gaps. If the first colour is still wet, you’ll get that soft blend between stripes that looks so dreamy.
- Set the panel aside to dry fully before die cutting the image with the coordinating die.
- Die cut a detailed A2-sized panel die from Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, and layer it onto another piece of the same. This gives subtle texture and tone-on-tone detail without taking focus from your florals.
- Pop your florals up with foam adhesive for dimension.
- Die cut your sentiment: the shadow piece from silver mirror cardstock, and the word itself from Neenah, stacked twice for added depth. Next, stamp a coordinating sub-sentiment and add it below your die cut words.

Crafting With Pride
I’m sharing a new Pride-themed project every single day this June over on Instagram and I’ll have a recap post with all the projects at the end of the month right here on my blog.
So whether you’re crafting for yourself, for someone you love, or just for the joy of it—thank you for being here.
Let’s keep celebrating creativity, colour, and compassion. ????
Please be aware:
As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.
Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.
