Hey Crafty People!
This month’s challenge theme over at WOW Embossing Powder is ‘Colours & Textures’ and I kicked off the month with a heat/dry embossing combo. You can see how I did that below, but I ended up with four gorgeous panels in sweet pastel colours.
I used my Colour Catalogue by Sarah Renee Clark to find a colour scheme, and I knew that when I saw this one, it would be perfect with some of the supplies I have in my stash!
To turn these panels into cards I grabbed Way Too Sweet stamp set from Altenew, and I stamped out a bunch of the cupcakes, ice cream cones and lollies in Permanent Black ink.
I coloured them all in in a few colour blends that I thought would go well with the backgrounds:
- Green – G000, YG11, YG41
- Purple – BV000, BV00, BV11
- Pink – RV21, RV23, RV25
- Turquoise – BG10, BG23, BG49, BG75
- Yellow – Y000, Y02, Y08
- Wood – E21, E15
- Cones – E11, E21
After I finished colouring the images, I coloured over the top of the with the WOW Embossing Pen to add sticky ink over them, then added Clear Hologram Sparkle; I absolutely LOVE how this looks!!!
I fussy cut the images and edged them with a black marker to conceal the white core of the paper.
I cut the word sweet, using my Tall Alphas die set, from both white & holographic paper and glued them on top of each other with an offset.
I stamped the rest of my sentiment using Obsidian Black Pigment ink from the Sentiment Strips 1 stamp set.
I glued everything together using a mix of wet glue and foam adhesive to give more interest and depth.
