Today, I’m sharing two cards where I decided to foil it, then reverse! Plus I played around with a new to me colour of foil!

1. Foil the HexiGems Bloom floral plate in Cobalt Blue Glimmer foil onto smooth White Cardstock from WOW! Embossing Powder. Die cut with the coordinating die and set aside.
2. Foil the new HexiGems Sentiments in Silver and die cut. (This awesome new set foils then die cuts a whole bunch of sentiments at the same time, giving them a fun banner edge too.)
3. That Hexigon in the background is the piece left over from making card number 2; Use the Solid HexiGems plate to reverse foil the leftovers from the Bloom foiled image. Die cut with one of the HexiGems layering dies to get a solid piece, set this aside. Carefully trim around the edge of the leftover foil with long bladed scissors to get the thin, foiled frame.
4. Add foam tape to the back of the Blooms image, and peel back a small portion of the release tape to allow you to adhere the frame to the back of it. Adhere the sentiment onto it and set aside.
5. Add some subtle detail to the background by using last month’s Large Die of the Month’s Pierce & pinch plate to give a detailed frame on a piece of warm white/pale cream cardstock. Trim it down to leave a 1/8inch border all the way around when adhering it onto an a2 panel of bright white cardstock from WOW Embossing Powder.
6. Add the focal piece and decorate with Sapphire gems.

…Then Reverse It…..

1. Use the HexiGems solid foil plate to foil the negative image of the Blooms plate. (TIP! If you are having trouble with the solid plates, make sure you’re using SUPER SMOOTH cardstock.)
2. Trim out 1/2 inch wide strips of blue cardstock and adhere them diagonally on an a2 panel of Neenah. Trim thin strips of Silver foil cardstock and use them to bookend the Blue strips.
3. Die cut the letters you want to use from black cardstock and layer up 3-4 of each on on top of each one. Glue your word onto a strip of vellum.
4. Foil a sub sentiment onto black cardstock in Silver Glimmer Foil from the HexiGems sentiment foil plate & die.
5. Assemble the card and add blue gems.
