Hey Crafty People!

I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous Small Butterflies from Pinkfresh Studio, and you know I am all about the hot foiling so these foiled butterflies are enough to have me giddy!!! This shaker was super fun to make and it just looks SO GOOD!

Foiled Butterflies Shaker

1. Foil the gorgeous Small Butterflies hot foil plate in Matte Gold foil and colour using the Spring alcohol markers from Altenew. Add darker colour closer to the body and swap around the colours used to get a nice variety of Butterflies that can be used on loads of different cards. Die cut or fussy cut them and set aside.
2. Die cut some of the Curvy Leaves from vellum, add some ultra slow embossing ink to the edges of the leaves, then add Platinum embossing powder and heat set. Set aside.
3. Use the Sparkling Diamonds cover plate on an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb. Again, set this aside whilst you work on the shaker.
4. Using the medium sized Folk Edge Square detail die and slightly smaller square die, cut five layers of white cardstock. (PRO tip! Tape the two dies together to make it easier to move them whilst ensuring you get exactly the same die cut frame each time you use them.
5. Glue four layers of the frames together, and add acetate to the back of the fifth frame. Then glue to on top of the stacked frames. (You should end up with a shaker pocket with a frame adhered on top of the acetate window.)
6. Add a variety of sequins, but be sure to keep them small enough to allow them to move easily inside the depth of your shaker. Use strong double sided adhesive to add another layer on acetate on the back of the shaker to seal the sequins in securely, then add more to adhere the shaker onto the previously die cut panel.
7. Position the vellum leaves and Butterflies around the shaker, attaching them with more double sided adhesive.
8. Add a previously foiled sentiment that is stacked on top of two additional layers of cardstock for dimension.
9. Lastly, finish the design with three groupings of three gems.
