This weekend is Gracie’s birthday; to celebrate we are having a throwback to some of her older, fabulous floral designs and Gracie has a HUGE 50% off sale, so you can join in too!!

I chose to use this Iris from the ‘Family Love’ bundle; I’ve never coloured an Iris before and so I wanted to challenge myself.

I made a digital card panel in Publisher by adding two thick black lines below the flowers and then I chose this lovely sentiment from ‘Hey Lovely’. I did this so that I could foil these elements once I had coloured my images.

After searching online I found an image of an Iris just like these; yellow into purple and I was immediately drawn to them. You do need to be careful when mixing complimentary colours because you could easily make brown.

I added the yellow using Altenew Artist’s Marker in the colour Mango Smoothie, then to create a bumper space between the yellow and purple I used Copic E50. This allows us to go from yellow to purple without mixing and creating mud!

Once coloured I trimmed my panel down and placed some WOW! Fab Foil in Gold over it; then I folded it into a piece of scrap paper and ran it though my laminator.

Tip: Make sure your laminator is really hot, to get the best transfer.

I popped the panel up on some foam tape and onto a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card blank made from Neenah 110lb. I added some Champagne sequins from Nuvo.
