When I saw this Slimline Succulent digital stamp by Alex Syberia, I just knew I had to use it to make my husband a card for our recent 9th Wedding Anniversary.

I printed it onto Neenah 80lb and coloured it with Copic markers, and I discovered around half way through that some of my Copics are running a little dry! So, I did have to get a little creative in order to finish this panel; here’s hoping my refills arrive soon!

I used the grid lines on my glass media mat to line up letters from the Altenew Tall Alphas die set; I love this set because the letters are big enough to make a statement but because they are thin, you can fit a lot of them on a card. Once I knew they were all straight and spaced out properly I used some masking tape to keep them that way as I lifted them and laid them onto my coloured panel.

Tip: With this kind of design it is so important to ensure your letters are even and straight; there really is nowhere to hide if you make a mistake here, so check, check & triple check.

!Don’t forget to keep all of the pieces, including the centre of the O’s because you absolutely need them for the technique to work!

I chose a green card stock from my stash and die cut the same letters again three more times, allowing me to stack up the letters.

Tip: adhere your panel onto your card base or layering card stock, then add a single layer of the plain card stock into it, then you can add the inner pieces of the letters (the O’s in this case). !Make sure you add the right inner pieces to each letter and they are the right way up, or this will spoil the illusion!

Then I glued the other letters together so that the pieces of Succulent were at the top, and I glued the letters back into place to create this sort of Eclipsed design; looking straight on you might not see the eclipsed effect but it is absolutely awesome when you move the card slightly and it appears!

I added some Glossy Accents to the letters, which helps them stand out that little bit more and a sub sentiment from my desk stash.
