I’m super excited to be taking part in an awesome Holiday Hop with Scrapbook.com, I used their Little House cut file to make this adorable Gingerbread House!!

This was the first time that I made anything like this; as you know I am a card maker predominantly, but I just couldn’t pass on the opportunity to make a Gingerbread House! Now that I’ve tried it, I am so excited to make one with my girls in the week before Christmas, I’ve got quite a few things crafty activities lined up but this is the one I’m most looking forward to doing together! I’ll definitely try to get some photos to share once we have made it.

The cut file itself is super easy to use, and I cut all of the main pieces from 110lb Neenah Solar White. I decided that this would be the easiest way to get all of the different pieces and then I ink blended each one to get the Gingerbread colour I wanted.

I used my Catherine Pooler inks in Mandarin Spice and Icing On The Cake, to colour the walls and the roof.

I used various shades of brown to make a chocolate door, window frames and porch roof. This was the first time I used Copic markers on 110lb Neenah, and I honestly didn’t like it; the paper sucked up so much more of the ink and the colour just doesn’t seem as saturated as it would on 80lb.

I used a mixture of images from Lawn Fawn, Altenew and Catherine Pooler to decorate my house and I have everything linked below, including the cut file for the house.

I did use some embossing powder from WOW to create the windows, I layered up 3 layers of EP onto Vellum, and then once it had cooled I cracked it by folding it over & again. This gives a cool cracked candy look to the window panes which I just love.

Altenew – Cupcakes, chocolate ice lollies (Older set called Way Too Sweet)
