Today I’m sharing my entry to this month’s inspiration challenge over at Altenew.
I struggled a little to choose colours that were close to the colour scheme as none of my Altenew inks or watercolours/markers worked quite right. So I kind of mixed a number of elements to get something that I was happy with!
I started by ink smooshing a mixture of Rubellite and Pink Diamond onto an a2 panel of Distress Watercolour. Once I was happy with that I set it aside to dry whilst I die cut my other elements.
I used several of the dies from Just Leaves to cut both some warm grey cardstock and some vellum. I liked the addition of Vellum, as it adds that touch of snow from the inspiration photograph into the design.
Once the ink smooshed panel was dry, I ran it through my die machine with the Dotted Line debossing die and cut it in half to make my two cards.
I matted the two panels onto white and grey cardstock respectively. I also cut the thanks sentiment and matched up the letters and a background for each cards.
To bring in that hot pink, I used a Copic marker to colour in a vellum leaf for one card and the letters for my sentiment on the other card.
I popped each layer up on foam tape for lots of dimension
