Making Coloured Cardstock With Ink Pads | Scrapbook.com Ultra Thick Slimline Cards

Hey Crafty People!

Today’s card is my entry into Scrapbook.com’s monthly challenge, and I’m using their brand new ultra thick slimline cards & envelopes, along with their slimline card panels.

I decided to pair them with the new color me happy die set from Concord & 9th.

I looked through all of my ink swatches to choose some inks which would work for this month’s chosen colour scheme and I settled on most Catherine Pooler with a single Altenew.

One of the coolest things about CP inks is that they so easily create a flawless layer of colour when you gently swipe them over cardstock; you get instant coloured cardstock which matches whatever project you’re working on!

I swiped a piece of Neenah 80lb large enough to get 2-3 of the crayon die cuts, and I repeated these steps for each of my chosen colours.

I decided to cut the crayon ‘wrapper’ from vellum so as not to hide too much of those beautiful colours, and cut the accents from more Neenah 80lb.

I layered the crayons on one of the slimline card panels; gluing some straight down with liquid glue and popping others up with foam adhesive squares. Once I was happy with my arrangement I trimmed the excess crayons off. It seemed a shame to waste these, so I popped them on the other side of the card!

The card panels are well cut, and having them pre cut, certainly saves a lot of time!!! The card bases themselves are 110lb, which is fantastic!!! I really only like to use 110lb plus for my card bases, as I like them to be sturdy enough to do the job! I found that a lot of pre cut & scored card bases are much too lightweight for the job so I was definitely pleasantly surprised!

The cards fit well in the envelopes, even with the layers of dimension that I added, which is always a bonus! ??

I’m looking forward to creating more cards with these panels & bases!

AD | I was gifted the slimline card panels and ultra thick card bases with envelopes by Scrapbook.com for the purpose of trying them. All opinions given are my own and free from any bias.
