Hello Lovelies,
I know that my handwriting isn’t perfect. In fact there are many times that I find it difficult to write at all, and I am always conscious that when I have spent a long time making my card look good I could so easily mess it up with a hand lettering catastrophe.
BUT – if there is any time when that truly personal touch is needed it is Mother’s Day; I know that I will always treasure any card my girls make for me and it is so nice to look at it and see their love. My eldest daughter often worries about her handwriting, and no matter how many times I tell her she need not worry, she still insists that it is messy. I realised that I often fuel these feelings that anything less than absolute perfection is not adequate; she has seen me discard projects that I am unhappy with. Truth be told, we create handmade projects and often their beauty can be found in those imperfections; for it is in them we see the effort someone has gone to in our honour.
So I made the effort to hand letter some sentiments, sketching it out first in pencil and then going over that with black fineliner. I cut both sentiments into a rectangular shape and added some simple faux stitching detail with a gold gel pen.
I found this gorgeous pink & gold marbled wrapping paper in Home Bargains recently and I knew it would make a gorgeous background so I just had to get it. These cards came together so quickly; the flowers were leftovers from a project last month and I love the way they pop off that lighter background. I used adhesive foam tape behind all of the flowers, leaves to give some added dimension and then added the sentiments over the top.
Hey Crafty People!
Please be aware:
As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.
Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.
