Hey Crafty People!
So, I was playing with the Layered Cupcakes stencils from Pretty Pink Posh and I stumbled upon a technique, that accidentally created some NEON CUPCAKES!
Was it intentional? No.
Do I love it?! YES!
These cute cupcakes are so easy to create thanks to the three stencils and when you use smaller blending brushes you can add different colours to each one with no need for masking.
I used the Bitty Blender Brushes from Rabbit Hole Designs along with my Altenew inks to get vibrant and fun colour combos!
If you add deeper colour on the outer edges then you can add even more depth and dimension to the cute images, or go for a flat colour for a more graphic style.
I stamped the sentiments out in a mix of all of the colours that I have on my cupcakes, and I used two colours on the larger words for a fun ombre look.
Pretty Pink Posh has lots of different gems and I chose some which I thought matched the colours in the card nicely.
Purple mirror card made for a fun matting layer behind my ink blended panel. (I trimmed the panel down by 1/4inch and the purple mirror layer is a2 sized.
Neon Cupcakes…
After I had finished all three layers of the stencils, I decided to add some masking tape to mask off the liners so that I could add some Distress Glaze over for a fun crackly look. This was the catalyst to kick those ink colours into a whole new level of NEON…and I am so here for it!!!
The glaze that I used was from the Christmas limited edition set but I think it is a similar formula to the regular crackle glaze.
