Today I am sharing my first post as a member of the Papers For You Design Team. I got my welcome pack through a couple of weeks ago and I was just blown away by the quality of everything! Now, I must admit that there are a few items that I don’t really understand what to do with, I am working under the assumption that they are to do with bookmaking but I could be WAY off! ? They have lots of different styles that they cater for: from bright modern patterns to Gothic Glam, cute little critters to Geometric Florals there will be something up your alley here!

Personally, I was immediately drawn to the Carnival Flowers collection and I had to get playing with it straight away!! It just felt like the perfect opportunity to break out my latest toy; the Silhouette Cameo 4. I have been saving my crafty pennies to buy this machine and I am beyond excited to finally get my hands on it!!

There are a couple of cut files that I used for these projects, I will link them below in my supplies list, but the Beautiful is actually a free.cut file offered by the wonderful Queen of the Silhouette; Paige Evans. This entire project was inspired by her cut file, but also all of her videos on paper piecing backgrounds for her cut files. I honestly had so much fun doing this!!

I cut each letter individually from different pieces of paper from the collection, using the offset function to make them a tiny bit bigger than the white ones above so that they could easily sit behind each opening.

This was such a fun process with the aid of my Cameo; it is a look I’ve always admired from afar but figured that it was not a technique I would be able to use. I knew my hands would never manage to cut everything out, so this machine is a huge game changer for me already!!

The other thing that I was so excited to make was a matching envelope for my card and it turned out better than I even hoped it would!!

This entire collection is gob smackingly gorgeous and I plan to use every single last scrap of it making gorgeous cards, so keep an eye out for more!
