Rainbow Inspiration – WOW! Embossing FB Challenge April 2020

Hey Crafty People!

Once I was happy with the way my rainbow looked I added some WOW! Gold foil using my laminator. This is really easy to do when you have printed using Laserjet, (Inkjet will not work for this technique.)

You lay your chosen foil over the image you want to foil pretty side up, (this is really important!) Then slide your project and foil inside a folded piece of printer paper and feed through you laminator.

Whenever I am doing larger solid areas I always run my project through twice, just to make sure that the heat has time to really get through to every bit.

Then I always leave the foil on my project without touching it, whilst the whole thing cools down completely. No matter how many times I have done it, I am always amazed at the results!

This month’s challenge is all about that Rainbow, and I wanted to create a bold & beautiful thank you card for my donation of cards to be handed out to Keyworkers. I can’t think of a better sentiment than this Graciellie Designs from her ‘Hang In There’ bundle, released just last week. I also added the splatter from the same set.

Once printed I used Distress Ink to blend a beautiful rainbow over the whole card panel. I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed & Peacock Feathers, overlapping each colour to create a full rainbow.

The most important thing to remember when foiling is to let your laminator get really hot; I usually leave mine on for a good 15-20 minutes before I try running my project through.

Thank you for visiting my blog, if you’d like to see more of my artwork & how to’s and/or hear my thoughts on living with a chronic illness then please consider subscribing. T.
