Spellbinders’ Small Die of the Month for December is the cutest little interactive set and I had so much fun creating this scene, inspired by a Taylor Swift lyric that just felt so right for it.

The rest of the world was black & white, but we were in screaming colour.

Small Die of the Month December – A Stolen Kiss

1. Cut the various pieces for the umbrella from holographic and rainbow glitter cardstock. Adhere the glitter pieces in rainbow order onto the holographic base piece. Set aside and cut the various pieces needed for the two sets of legs from a selection of coloured and glitter cardstocks. Adhere together and set aside to work on the background.
2. Take an a2 panel of 80lb Neenah Solar White and ink blend a grey ombre with the darkest at the top. Allow to dry and then splatter with black watercolour ink.
3. Cut the sentiment pieces from thick white and holographic cardstocks. Adhere the holo on top of 2 layers of white. The set also comes with some doodles hearts dies too, cut some from the same holographic cardstock to embellish your finished card with.
4. The set comes with legs for the character in a skirt that swing and it’s a super simple mechanism: just apply a foam square or circle inside the hoop on the top of the legs and adhere the skirt over the top. Add the rest of the scene on more foam adhesive, but keep a check that the legs still move as much as you’d like them to and readjust the foam adhesive as needed.
5. OPTIONAL: Add some light shadow beneath your figures with light grey marker.
6. Adhere the sentiment and hearts to finish off your design.
