Hey Crafty People!
I’m dropping by today to share this card I created for Alex Syberia’s last release, and I may or may not* have forgotten to share it. (*I definitely did.) My favourite way to show off this type of gorgeous cut file is to leave it white and put it on a background of stepped up ink blending.
I started by ink blending an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb, creating a beautiful warm gradient that makes me think of beautiful sunsets. (I have loads of tutorials for ink blending if you want some more information on how to get this type of blend. Check them out here.)
The inks I used are:
- Party Dress
- Tutti Frutti
- Tiki Torch
- Tiara
Stepped Up Ink Blending
Catherine Pooler inks take longer to dry than standard dye inks, so they can be used for embossing, but because of the size of the panel I let the whole thing dry, then added Ultra Slow Drying embossing ink from WOW.
Then I added Halo embossing glitter over the top of the whole panel! Halo is clear but with the most amazing semi holographic shimmer and it is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
It looks incredible over this luscious ink blended panel!!!
I cut the Butterfly panel from Alex Syberia three times from more Neenah 80lb using my Silhouette Cameo 4, then stacked the three up on top of each other for more dimension.
This looks so beautiful in front of our embossed panel!
I used a sentiment out of my little tub of sentiments, choosing a solid black Mega Label Love sentiment for extra contrast against the bright panel.
A few clear drops finish the design off perfectly.
