Hey Crafty People!

Did you see the new release from Spellbinders?! They have an awesome stitched Alphabet and I had so much fun playing with these! Today I’m sharing one of the cards that I created for this release.

This card is made up of a ton of different techniques and elements; it was super fun to create and I’m hoping that I can explain it well for you guys… ??

Directions

1. Cut ‘i’ and ‘u’ from thick 120lb cardstock, then ink blend them using Grape Crush at the top and adding Glam from the bottom, to get that beautiful ombre look.
2. Using gold thread, stitch the letters – go up through the centre then down through one of the outer holes. Repeat until you have gone through each of the outer holes and after stitching all of the letter, secure the thread from the back.
3. Cut another of each letter from the same 120lb cardstock and glue it to the back of the stitched ones; this sandwiches all of the threads and makes the letter stronger.
4. Attach them to a vellum shadow and leave under something heavy to make sure that they are flat and stick well.
5. Blend the same purples onto an a2 panel, keeping the lighter colour in the centre hb by an my and deepening the colour at the edges with a bit of Dress Blues.
6. Splatter with a mixture of water and Confetti While Perfect Pearls.
7. Using several hot foil Plates from Yana’s Geo Florals set from her recent collection, foil and die cut the various elements on the Hexagon.
8. Pop up the hexagon on foam tape and add the stitched letters. (The glittery love is from an older Spellbinders card kit but you could use any die cut or stamped word.)
9. Finish with some Aurora Borealis gem embellishments and a glittery heart.
