Hey Crafty People!
I love the gorgeous new papers from Alexandra Renke and seriously, don’t even get me started on their new gems!!! ??? I made two fun, mixed media cards with some of the products from her shop!
Mixed Media Fun
- Using an a2 rectangle die, cut out a piece of 12×12 patterned paper. (You can trim it down with a paper trimmer but using a die makes it really easy to choose your favourite part of the pattern!)
- Add embossing paste through the Snowfall stencil, and apply Kerstin’s Magic embossing powder. Heat set.
- Cut the shadow layer for the sentiment die from this panel and apply this to a plain white die cut. (Keep all of the little pieces of the panel because you need these to get a finished look.)
- Apply double sided adhesive to some Neenah 80lb and then cut using the detail die layer; cutting so that the adhesive is on the top of the die cut.
- Peel back the release paper and cover with super fine glitter.
- Take apart this die cut word; there are the inner letters and an outer frame that are both cut with a single die.
- Glue the inner letters onto the shadow and attach this back where it came from in the panel. Once that is in place, add the additional bits from within the letters, making sure to push them down well.
- Stamp a sub sentiment in a matching ink, onto a light piece of the same 12×12 paper; this way the colour of that matches the white in the background of the panel. Little things like that make a big difference! Trim this out, and adhere underneath the word die cut.
- Finish with a few matching gems.
SUPER Quick & Easy Card
- Again, using the rectangle die, cut another a2 panel from patterned paper, and cut the shadow layer of the word die from another bit of the same piece.
- Adhere the outer letter pieces ontop of the shadow die cut.
- Tear a strip of vellum and scrunch it up to create a wrinkled texture that just looks so good!!! Then attach the vellum by folding the edges over and securing from the back with adhesive tape.
- Cut up small pieces of foam adheilsive to sit behind the word and attach it onto the vellum strip, following the same angle as the vellum.
- Stamp a sub sentiment in black, onto a light piece of the same patterned paper, using a couple of paper strips to add dimension behind it.
- Add a few gems to embellish.
Please be aware:
As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.
Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.
