Hey Crafty People!
Whilst I was playing around with my hot foil plates to try the Letterpress Technique a few weeks, I accidentally ran it through with a sandwich that was too thick and the plate actually pushed through the paper to punch out the Sparkle Strip. It was actually a bit of a happy accident because I love how this finished background looks! (But be warned, I do now have this print indented on one of my plates!!!)
- After ‘punching’ the pattern into an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb, I ink blended with several blue inks to get this gorgeous graduation of colour. (I used all Catherine Pooler inks and domed foam blenders. Set aside to dry.
- Die cut and assemble the Holiday Express train set from a variety of both coloured cardstocks and specialty cardstocks. Assemble, as per the instructions, using strong adhesive.
- OPTIONAL: Use Stickles to add little pops of glitter over your train, carriage and gifts! Set aside to dry.
- Splatter the fully dried background with gold watercolour and adhere gold glitter cardstock behind the holes.
- Trim a strip of warm grey cardstock to create a ‘ground’ for your train to sit on,with a thin strip of the same gold glitter cardstock that will act as the tracks. Adhere your train using foam adhesive.
- Foil a sentiment and trim this down to fit on your panel. Adhere this with foam adhesive to a piece of gold glitter cardstock and then adhere the entire thing to your card panel.
- OPTIONAL: Use fluffy cotton wool to be the steam issuing from your train!
