Sweet Birthday Wishes

These images from the new All Things Sweet layering stamp set are so beautifully detailed! It’s one of those layering sets where there’s a LOT of steps but the stamps are all still really easy to line up, so it takes a bit of time to get them finished, but it’s still really easy to do.

When I’m creating these types of images, I like to stamp multiple at one time – I’ve already got the stamps good to go, so I might as well make the time it takes as efficient as possible! Then I just die cut all of the images and store them in the stamp packaging for use at a later date.

I ended up using quite a few of the images, making my cards for the release because I was having so much fun creating with them!

Here, I die cut ‘sweet’ using the Mighty Alpha dies, stacking two white with a pink glitter die cut on top. Then I positioned these on an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb, adding a cupcake & stack of chocolate.

To finish my sentiment, I used the Sentiment Strips stamp set, and trimmed it down to a thin strip, cutting out the stamped word sweet.

Super Simple Striped Sundae (?)

I used some of the new Blends 6×6 Paper pack, trimming a thin strip from the papers that matched the colours of my Ice Cream Sundae. These papers are an ombre of the different colours within each family, so I alternated the three paper strips and glued them straight onto an a2 panel.

i stamped my sentiment on the panel and popped my Sundae up with foam adhesive. Once I had all of my elements in place, I decided that it needed a frame so I drew one in with a ruler and black fineliner.

Slimline Shaker

When I was stamping out the images, I also stamped some without the outline, for a softer look. (This is really only going to work if you are stamping multiple, because you can use an image that does have the outline to line up each stamped layer.)

I used another sheet from the Blends pack as the background of my shaker panel, and I used two of the Nesting Rectangles die set to create the front of my shaker. For a softer look, I used vellum rather than acetate and a single layer of foam tape. (I had to trim the foam tape in half to fit behind my frame.)

I embossed a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips 2 onto vellum, and added it along with two of the die cut images.

SUPER QUICK CRAFTING!

I absolutely adore the Blends paper pack and I’ve used it so much already! This card just fell together so quickly, I love it!!!

I trimmed down one of the 6×6 pieces to a2 size and placed a strip of Gold Washi across, folding the ends over to ensure it remains in place.

Then I added a double stacked die cut sentiment; it is the new Tiny Sentiments Hello die, which cuts a strip that has hello joined to the upper edge. It actually cuts a much longer strip, but once I had it in place on the card panel, I trimmed the edges off.

Done! These papers are fabulous for making super quick backgrounds – I even used one on one of my recent Build A Flower projects, so I did give a little sneak peek! ??

Bonus: New Cardmaking MUST HAVE!

The new Satine Masking Tape is absolutely INCREDIBLE! As soon as I tried it, I knew there’s no way that I’ll ever want to use anything else again!!! It’s easily held dies in place, masked off edges and best of all it’s not torn anything when I remove it!

Such a great product!
