Hey Crafty People!
It’s a brand new release day for Alex Syberia Designs and I had so much fun colouring some of the beautiful nostalgic Christmas images.
I decided to create two one layer card panels in Silhouette Studio (if you aren’t sure how to use digital images, I have a video tutorial that I posted previously, over on my YouTube. Check that out here.)
Nostalgic Christmas
I sized my cute Nutcracker to fit on a mini slimline, which I decided would be 6.5×3.5inch today. Then I added the sentiment and a thin border, then printed it onto Neenah 80lb using my HP LaserJet Printer.
I coloured my Nutcracker using Copic markers; I chose the colour scheme because it made me think of Coldstream Guard’s uniform. (This card is for my Mother In Law, and I know she will love the style!)
The markers I used are:
Red: R05, R24, R27, R59 Black: C3, C5, C7 Yellow: Y02
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Winter Trio
I used Silhouette Studio to crop down three of the nature images to 1 inch squares with an outline and spaced them across a portrait, a2 panel. For my sentiment, I just added a really simple scripty ‘Merry Christmas’.
It’s been ages since I broke out my pencil crayons, so I decided to colour these images using my Arteza crayons. I just coloured them really simply, adding a pale background to each square.
once they were all coloured, I added some highlights with a white gel pen, and I decided to add a border using a ruler & fineliner.
