Today, I’m sharing this project and a video tutorial with all of my tips for colouring with alcohol markers for beginners. I’m using this ADORABLE Cozy Kitties set from Heffy Doodle along with some more of the products from their latest release!

1. Stamp images from Cozy Kitties onto Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Cover with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing powder and heat set.
2. Now, let’s get to the main point of this project, colouring with alcohol markers for beginners. Choose a limited colour pallette and select 3-4 shades for each, ranging from light to medium-dark. Colour in your images, adding your darkest shade into the shadow areas and blending out through your others, remembering to leave a highlight area. (Tips & technique breakdowns are in my video, so check it out!)
3. Add white highlights using a gel pen, allow to dry and then die cut with the corresponding Cozy Kitties die set & Mini Die Cutting Machine.
4. Cut an a2 panel of Plum Pudding cardstock for your background panel and then cut the You Are So Pawesome shadow from the centre of it. (This will be covered by your white panel, so it’s a good way to avoid wastage!)
5. Die cut the words from Neenah 80lb and an adhesive foam sheet. Layer the Neenah on top of the foam and add to the Plum Pudding background.
6. Cut a panel of Neenah 80lb with the largest deckle die from Deckled Paper Hugs and adhere, offset at an angle onto the Plum Pudding panel.
7. Plan out where your elements will sit, and stamp a sub sentiment from Cozy Kitties into the space underneath the large sentiment.
8. Adhere the elements using a mixture of liquid glue and foam adhesive for dimension and interest.
