Today, I’m playing with the Hero Arts Premium kit and some of the add-ons for the January 2024 release. Let’s create using Gold Leaf Flakes, inspired by a Taylor Swift lyric.

When I saw this month’s release, the first thing that popped into my mind was a Taylor Swift lyric, so I decided to create a card inspired by it. The lyric is ‘Gold cage, hostage to my feelings’ from So It Goes which is on Reputation. (I’m a Rep girly at heart ?)

1. Spritz a panel of Camel watercolour paper with the Pink & Gold spray in the Premium kit. Let it fully dry and then stamp the ‘Ode to Andy Warhol’ Bold Prints in Intens-ified Black ink.
2. Add double sided adhesive to a piece of white cardstock and die cut the Vintage Birdcage. Peel back the release paper and apply Gold Leaf Flakes. Gently buff with a stiff brush to remove excess.
3. Cut from adhesive foam and secure behind the cardstock, leaving some of the detail pieces still attached. Add more Gold Leaf to cover that too.
4. Die cut the perch, both birds & hearts from adhesive covered cardstock and cover with Sparkles Fine Glitter. (Black Onyx Essential for the birds & perch, and Frisky For the hearts.
5. Adhere the birds, perch and cage onto a piece of vellum then tear the edges using a ruler to hold it down as you tear.
6. Stamp a sentiment from the Love Greetings stamp set from the kit, in Intens-ified Black ink onto a strip of Camel watercolour paper.
7. Cut the background panel with an a2 sized layering die and adhere your other elements.
