I am back with another release from Rachel Vass Designs as their August Guest Designer and this week we have a coffee with your friends kind of feel which I am absolutely loving!!

There’s loads of options with this release and I chose the circle of coffee cups, then I added one of the sentiments into the centre. I offset the whole design so that it would sit partially off the left hand side of my card.

Once that was printed, I grabbed a handful of Copics & Brushmarkers in rainbow colours, picking a darker & lighter shade of each colour. I got to work colouring my cups in, just really simply, using the two shades to add some depth and contrast even though I wasn’t aiming for any type of realistic shading.

I also used two shades of a light brown to colour the inside of my cups, using the darker shade to loosely imply a shadow from the cup itself.

I chose to go for a less realistic, more whimsical style for this design and I took a little artistic licence when it comes to Rainbow order.

I trimmed down the panel, matted it onto black and then attached it to a white a2 card base made from Neenah 110lb.

To embellish I added a few random crystals sprinkled across the image.
