Happy New Year! I’m choosing to slide into 2024 with something fun and just a touch *magical* with the Hero Arts MMH December 2023 kit. (Yes…I know it’s now January but I wanted to start the year off with a really fun make, that honestly made me so freaking excited!)

This one is a *little* long winded, and definitely takes a LOT of steps, but there are so many things on here which truly excited me so I couldn’t wait to share but I will try to film a tutorial going over the techniques in more detail at some point soon. ? (If you’ve got any questions about how I did any of it then give me a shout and I’d be happy to go after it!)

Hero Arts MMH December 2023

1. Stamp various images from the large stamp set included within December’s My Monthly Hero in Intens-ified Black Ink onto an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb. Use the small star image to fill in all of the gaps and white space. Once you’re happy that the whole panel is covered nicely, allow to completely dry or you will get smudging in the next step.
2. Swipe your Embossing ink over the entire panel, ensuring that the whole thing is nicely covered, before applying WOW Clear Holographic Sparkle Embossing powder. Heat set thoroughly and you’ll see it change the stamping from black to a gorgeous deep purple! The glitter shows up much better on the darker, stamped areas, which is what tricks your eyes into seeing the images as purple now! So cool!!!
3. Cover the embossing in more embossing ink and add a layer of Clear Gloss powder. Heat set, and repeat 3x more times. You’ll have a thick, glossy cover over the entire panel, without sacrificing that sparkle and the cool colour shift effect.
4. Repeat the inking, but this time add tiny amounts of Polished Silver SuperFine powder using a small brush to pick up the powder and then tapping it gently to deposit the powder randomly over the panel. Carefully heat set and add clear powder anywhere that hasn’t levelled automatically.
5. You need to let that cool completely, or this next step won’t work. Bend your panel to crack that thick Embossing like glass. This looks so cool and it’s so easy to do!!
6. Stamp the word ‘MAGIC’ using the same MMH stamp set onto vellum and emboss in Polished Silver. Adhere this to the panel with strong adhesive on the ends, but wrap them around to adhere to the back.
7. Finish that sentiment using one of the new sets from the December release, stamped in Intens-ified Black and die cut, but trim off just the part that would sit before that. Add to the card with foam adhesive and embellish with purple gems.
