I’ve made TWO card for the Collab hop, and I’ve got the details on how to make them each below. All of my supplies are listed & linked at the bottom of my post, along with the links to the other blogs participating in today’s hop!

Wander

1. Create a Pearly cardstock panel by swiping Glaze over and allowing to dry. Once dry, Use the Wander Butterfly Stencil and white Pint Size Paper Pouncer to add WOW Embossing Ink through the detail layer of onto the centre of your panel. Emboss with Polished Gold and die cut with the Wander Butterfly Die set.
2. To add more detail to your Butterfly, use low tack tape to mask off the body and apply more ink with the same Paper Pouncer. Add ink around the edges of your Butterfly wings with a WOW Embossing Pen. Add Polished Gold to the body & wings before heat setting. Repeat the process for the body to give a more raised finish.
3. Die cut 2x smaller Butterflies from cardstock, and add Embossing Ink to them with the Paper Pouncer, again adding Polished Gold and heat setting. Repeat this for a 2nd layer. Add these to a foam die cut for dimension.
4. Now, die cut the ‘wander’ sentiment and apply Aquatini CP ink to it using the Teal Pint Size Paper Pouncer. Add this to a foam die cut also, for extra dimension.

Working on the Background:

1. Create an ink smoothed panel with different grey CP inks by applying ink to your glass mat, spritzing with water and laying your a2 panel of watercolour cardstock into it. Allow to dry before repeating with another of the grey inks. Just repeat this until you are happy with the result!
2. Swipe Hoodie ink around each side of the panel to give a darker edge and once dry, die cut with a Wonky Stitched Panel Die.
3. Splatter black ink or watercolour over the panel by flicking your paintbrush off the edge of an old gift card or similar. Allow to dry.

Light It Up:

1. Plan the positioning of all of your elements on the background. We want the light to shine at the start of the word ‘wander’ so adhere this and then mark out where you need to light and the button to sit.
2. Insert your battery into a One-Light and press the button to check all is working well. Apply a strip of adhesive onto the top of the battery holder then adhere into place on the back of your background panel. Test again to make sure it works well and as you want it to. Then apply Best Ever Foam Adhesive strips to build up the rest of the background, and adhere to an a2 card base. (For a softer light, don’t make a hole in your panel; just allow the light to shine through it.)
3. Adhere the larger of the 2 small Butterflies right next to the light/sentiment and adhere the smaller one over the One-Light Button.

Finishing Touches:

1. Bend the large Butterfly’s wings up slightly and add glue only behind the body, before adhering to your background panel. This allows the wings to sit slightly proud of the panel for some lovely dimension.
2. Stamp a sentiment from the Things Your Momma Said stamp set in Versafine onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Once dry, carefully fussy cut and add to your card with foam adhesive squares.

No Waste Here!

Now we can use the negative Butterfly panel to create a second card, no waste here!

1. Create a second panel by adding Black Paper Glaze over an a2 panel of Multi Media cardstock. Apply roughly, to give you thicker sections and lines that run throughout. Apply WOW Gold Rich embossing powder across the Paper Glaze whilst still wet and carefully heat to melt. (This will also heat the Glaze and dry that, so be careful with how you hold the heat gun so as not to burn it.)
2. Adhere the negative Butterfly panel onto this mixed media panel with liquid glue. (Place something on top to make sure you keep good contact between the two whilst it dries.)

Accents & Sentiments:

1. Apply embossing ink to a piece of Vellum and emboss with Clear Hologram Sparkle EP from WOW.
2. Die cut 3 small Butterflies from the Wander Butterflies die set from this sparkly vellum. Set aside.
3. Stamp a sentiment in Embossing ink onto Pear Blossom Press Black Sentiment Stock and emboss in Gold Rich EP. Trim this out and cover the white core by carefully taking a black pen along each of the 4 edges.

Light it up:

1. Pierce 3 holes in the large Butterfly negative space for your lights to show through and tape each of the 3x LEDs from your EZ-Light to show through one of these holes. Adhere your Power Pack into place and tape down the extra wires by letting them curl naturally into place. (Don’t forget to add your battery, and keep testing that all is working out how you want it to.)
2. Spread a little glue onto the back of each sparkly Butterfly and adhere one over each LED.
3. Adhere your sentiment into place on some foam adhesive. Embellish with Picket Fence Studios sequin mixes.
